AIDS PEI
EAST COAST ORGANIZATIONS
AIDS PEI www.aidspei.com AIDS PEI Community Support Group Inc began in 1991 as a support group for people living with HIV/AIDS on Prince Edward Island. It had a small following, but a huge impact on the issues surrounding the disease in the province. Through fundraising and various prevention and support activities, the organization grew to include a board of directors, staff and a group of committed volunteers. In 1999, AIDS PEI received operational funding from the AIDS Community Action Project under the Public Health Agency of Canada and opened its doors as AIDS PEI, providing the island with prevention services, education and awareness and support for people living with HIV/AIDS. The organization has operated a needle exchange service, condom distribution, health maintenance and other supports for people living with HIV/AIDS. AIDS PEI currently has a staff complement of two persons which fluctuates with available funding each year. We are currently located at the Midtown Plaza on University Avenue in Charlottetown

DALVAY BY THE SEA
PEI ACCOMMODATIONS
DALVAY BY THE SEA www.dalvaybythesea.com Dalvay has since been operated as a leased private concession from Parks Canada. In 1959, Mr. & Mrs. Raoul Reymond became operators of Dalvay By-The-Sea. Hailing from Geneva Switzerland, the Reymonds had left Europe arriving in PEI in 1925 to take advantage of the lucrative fox breeding industry. After fox fur went out of fashion they turned their energies to inn-keeping in summers and teaching music in winters to many Charlottetown families. The Reymond's brought a European atmosphere of gentility and personal service to Dalvay that was unique to Prince Edward Island. Dalvay By-the-Sea is currently operated by the Reymond's grandson, David Reymond Thompson, who took over Dalvay when his grandparents retired in 1976. Additions since that time have included: fully-updated four-piece bath/shower in each guest room, antiques in each room and upgrades to the central kitchen facilities.
