ARC Meetings in March 2008

There are two meetings in March, both of which will be held at the ARC PEI office at 144 Prince St. in the AIDS PEI building next to the Polyclinic.Potluck Lunch and BrainstormingSunday, March 16th, 1:30 pm - This will be an informal gathering to socialize. Also we will create a business plan for ARC as a living document consisting of clear, attainable goals with target timelines. Besides providing clear direction on ARC's goals, having such a document in place will make us more attractive for other organizations to partner with.ARC Board MeetingTuesday, March 18th, 7:00 pm - This is our regular Board meeting to advance ARC business. Among the topics of discussion will be planning for Pride. Coming from the spectacular success of our Winter Slam Dance Party on February 16th, ARC is pleased to announce that we will be holding Dance Parties at Mavor's in the Confederation Centre of the Arts on the following dates. All dance parties are from 10pm-2am, must be of legal age. The bar is open early and you are welcome to show up early for cocktails and try Mavor's menu!! Mavor's is located in the Confederation Centre of the Arts in downtown Charlottetown. Come for another rockin' good time! Just go in the box office doors ( Queen Street ) and go straight ahead. ARC is back for 2008 and better than ever with a new Board and new ideas for running events. We are having a dance this February on Saturday, Feb 16 from 10 pm to 2 am. Location and theme is still TBA. This will be an event to remember, come check it out. We aim to impress the community. Tell your friends, you don't want to miss it.

New February Board Meeting

Another meeting of the ARC Board of Directors will be held Tuesday, February 5 at the ARC office at 144 Prince St. (right next to the Polyclinic) in Charlottetown. The meeting is at 7:30 pm. Everyone is welcome. We will finalize plans for a kick-ass Valentine's dance, finish picking an executive, and sketch out general plans for 2008. The meeting is being held Tuesday again for convenience, but meeting times are still negotiable.

BYRON CARR MURDER INVESTIGATION RE-OPENED

The Charlottetown City Police are re-opening the 19-year-old investigation into the murder of Byron Carr. Mr. Carr was a member of the Prince Edward Island gay community who was found murdered in his home. No one was ever brought to justice for this crime. The police are requesting any details no matter how inconsequential they may seem. Please come forward if you know anything, and if you know someone who may know something please pass the request on to them. Members of the public with information about this crime can go to the PEI Crimestoppers website where tips can be submitted completely anonymously either by email form or by online chat, or call the Aliant tip hotline at 1-877-566-3952.

Announcing ARC's New Year's Eve Dinner and DanceDecember 31, at MacLauchlan's Best Western this year (NOTE CHANGE INVENUE)Cocktails at 7, Buffet Dinner at 7:30
Dance from 9-1
Cost for Dinner and Dance: $40 per person.
Dance only (for those not attending dinner): $10. Everyone is welcome, must be of legal age.
Update: Tickets for the dinner and dance are available at Beanz on University Avenue in Charlottetown, or by emailing or calling ARC. Tickets are only needed if you are attending the dinner, you can pay at the door for the dance. The Best Western also has a block of rooms reserved for the ARC New Year's Dance at $89 per room, just mention ARC when reserving. The rooms are reserved until Dec. 26.
