Green Gay Bulls B&B is a restored Victorian Home, built in the 1896. Nestled at the front of 3 acres of manicured lawns, a section of woods and 149 feet of water frontage on the Vernon River. There is a wharf nearby, where if you have a canoe or kayak with you, you can launch and go for a scenic trip up the river and be back in time to see the spectacular sunsets, in the early evening. Then perhaps, light a fire and enjoy the evening around the fire pit.

This home has had an interesting past being a private home and at one point was also the United Church Manse. At such time, many weddings and christenings were performed in the formal parlor. A tradition that we maintain, as Jim, the owner of the B&B was the first appointed Marriage Commissioner of PEI as well, he is an ordained minister. The house has also been featured in several Victorian House Tours.

There is a screened in Gentleman's smoking veranda at the front of the house, a deck bordering the fish pond, another deck under the massive maple,...another deck for sunning, yet another deck atop of a hill that overlooks the Vernon River, garden's galore and a comfy bench under the great willow tree out front, for those of you that just want to sit back and read or enjoy some "country life"

There is plenty of parking available for the guests.

On the Trans- Canada Highway Green Gay Bulls is 20 minutes from the Wood Island ferry terminal, coming from Nova Scotia or 20 minutes out of Charlottetown.

Close to Historic sites, light houses, some of Canada’s best golf courses, fine dining, theater, beaches, and site seeing. Bring your bikes get on the Confederation trail and head into rural PEI.

We are a very casual B&B wanting our customers to feel right at home. In the morning come down to the dining room and have a full breakfast. Fresh muffin, eggs, bacon, coffee, tea and homemade preserves await you after a good night’s sleep.

PLEASE NOTE : WE HAVE A 24HR CANCELLATION POLICY!

PLEASE NOTE : It is a shared washroom on the top floor. This usually is not an issue for guests as breakfasts/ showers and/or check outs are usually staggered. Another washroom/ shower is available to guests on the main floor.

For those wishing to have a "private"  washroom...this too may be possible (depending on current reservations) for an additional charge of $40

"Before I book accommodations, I do my homework... and read many comments posted by fellow travellers. Their ( your) opinions and experiences ...help me make my decision as to where I will finally stay. The very positive comments left on this AirBNB site... convinced me ...that this is where I wanted to stay. Once again... my fellow travellers got this place right :) Not only is this home an historic site on PEI, (with its many artifacts and antiques)... it was the ....Island hospitality ....from the two hosts, Jim and Kenneth, that sealed the deal. When I travel.. it's the people I meet along the way.. which creates happy travel memories for me. It's the people (and not the place) that gives me a memorable holiday. These guys are the best and I was honoured to meet them both and spend two nights in their home. A word of advice? Arrive hungry for breakfast. Jim cooks up one major delicious....lumberjack style breakfast! Thanks guys for your hospitality. ;) " - Kevin, Ottawa

Jim and Kenneth thank you for making me feel welcome and part of your family." "Jim, it was the highlight of my trip to meet you and Kenneth. I know our paths will cross again. Blessings brother" Cam , Nova Scotia

“I had a lovely stay. I was warmly greeted by Jim and Kenneth, who helped me with my luggage. My room was spacious and clean and, like the whole house, filled with interesting things to look at. I came home to a made bed and dry towels every day. I ate the most incredible breakfasts that set me up for the day and I didn't need to eat much for lunch. They provided me with lots of tips and suggestions of things to do on the Island. They even arranged for a local restaurant to keep its kitchen open a bit later for me to grab dinner on the evening I first arrived! I would highly recommend staying here.” “Jim, thank you so much for taking good care of me during my stay. It was lovely to meet everyone there and I'm telling everyone about your epic breakfasts!” Rachel, Toronto,Ontario

"Fantastic B&B This is a very unique B&B with a great history attached to it.
It has a museum type feel as every lovingly restored piece of furniture has its own meaning and the owners are more than happy to take the time to share this with you.

Each room is decorated very tastefully with its own charm yet the bathroom is ultra modern with a huge walk in shower.
We arrived on the day Jim and Kenneth were holding a party and we were welcomed like old friends and were instantly accepted and offered drink and food.

The art work in the house is also phenomenal and much of it has been painted by Kenneth to a very high standard.
3 of us stayed and if we ever return to PEI we would definitely like to spend more time at this wonderful guesthouse with our new friends Jim and Kenneth!!
Also the breakfast was first class too!!
If you are looking to stay at a guesthouse that has charm, class and a very warm welcome you will not find better than this.
Lee, Canterbury, U.K

"Jim is wonderful. The home itself is a masterful work of art, and no detail has been spared in making it welcoming to guests. Breakfast was stunning, we couldn’t have asked for more. Jim is the ultimate host. Thanks for going above and beyond. You made our trip memorable and it was so wonderful to stay with you in a welcoming, friendly home. Thank you for everything." Peter, Waterloo

"Enjoyed our stay at this old Victorian home. Jim has added many antique and personal touches. Our room was upgraded when we arrived and we enjoyed a very comfortable bed with shared bathroom which was no problem. Lovely sitting areas outside to enjoy a glass of wine or beer after a day of touring around. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We appreciate your sharing your wonderful home with us. The breakfasts were amazing and conversations." Theresa, Alberta

"5 star rating all the way!!!! Jim and Kenneth were amazing hosts in their beautiful home. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer, but definitely is in the works for next year. Jim it was great to meet you and Kenneth. We had a great stay at your amazing home but just wish it could of been longer. We had the best sleep of the week at your place!, Leaving today to go with mixed emotions, but had a great vacation. We will be back next year and hoping our paths will cross. Charlie and I will definitely recommend your lovely home.

PS The breakfast was amazing 😁 Thanks, Linda and Charlie , Dundas, Ontario

"We both loved your B&B, the house is great, loved the shower with lots of hot water Jim and Kenneth are great hosts -great stories! Give the dogs a pat and a scratch from me" Dean & Sheila, Enfield Nova Scotia

“At Jim's place you can expect eclectic, folksy, and historical all at the same time. He has a beautiful home and a wonderful property.
Breakfasts are excellent, as Jim is a great cook. He and Kenneth are very proud of their home and rightly so. If you love art, antiques and history you will love this space. Comfortable beds, great linens, lots of towels and a great shower. You will feel very much at home and can expect interesting conversations and company when you return the evening. We will definitely stay there again. ” " Our stay with you was amazing. We felt very welcomed and very much at home. You have a beautiful home and property. Both you and Kenneth are so easy to talk to and are very sweet. We have already recommended your home to our friends. We will surely stay with you the next time we visit PEI. Thank you again. ” Reed & Oraleen, Nova Scotia

"Ohhh my, I can’t say enough about this B and B I’ve stayed in a few and this one is on the top of my list. The scenery , the peacefulness, the hosts were like family they made you feel soooo at homemade went above and beyond to accommodate us. The breakfasts were to die for 😊I’d give it a 5 ⭐️ rating. We will definitely go back ”
“Had an amazing stay at your place. You went above and beyond to accommodate us. The breakfasts were awesome, ALOT of food. You made us feel right at home. Thank you and Kenneth for a memorable stay. We will be back for sure 😊” Jodi, Shawn and Lochlin..Nova Scotia

“Magic, pure magic!
Jim (& Kenneth) are incredible hosts in their 19th century home. The place is like a museum, art gallery, & your East coast family’s place rolled into one - with something to see and learn at every corner. The reviews on the breakfast are no joke - Jim makes the best breakfast ever!! He aims to please and treats you like family.

Our room was the large Walnut room (I believe it’s called that) & we loved the vintage and quaint look of it, esp when the warm morning sunshine pours in through the windows. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for something charming & unique, esp with such great hosts that truly exemplify how great PEI is!

“Thank you Jim & Kenneth for being incredible hosts! It felt like we were visiting family! Sending our love to you both,..." Giancarlo & Adrienne, Toronto

"Very unique, friendly hosts, wonderful breakfast" Imagine walking into a Victorian-era home filled with antiques and unique heirlooms and decorations... and the owners invite you to make yourself at home in ALL of the rooms of the house. That's exactly what Ken and Jim told us when we checked in.

This was the most unique place of our stay in PEI, with all sorts of interesting items everywhere we looked. Because it is one-of-a-kind it is hard to compare it to other places. Our spacious upstairs room was clean, tidy and comfy with stuffed chairs and a couch for reading. Down the hall was a huge modern bathroom with TWO showers in a tiled double shower with glass door. A third shower head was overhead. Plenty of extra towels and face cloths in the bathroom.
In the evening we sat on the screened-in porch to suck in the evening air. Coffee was ready at 6:30 with breakfast at 8:15. Jim had emailed us weeks earlier asking about our food preferences and he served a wonderful vegetarian omelet. It was fun sitting around the dining table eating breakfast family style and conversing with the other guests. Breakfast was first-class and even included a strawberry-rhubarb side dish.

It's obvious that Ken and Jim are proud of their B&B/home and they do business in the old style. They walked us out to our car and snapped our photo before we left. The location is situated on the highway that leads to the ferry terminal in Wood Islands and it is also not too far from the Confederation Trail on the way to Montague and Georgetown" Dave , New Hampshire

"Jim's house and its furnishings are a labor of love, which contains extraordinary details of family connections and careful restoration. We had a great time staying there, it was comfortable, quiet and cozy, also very close to Charlottetown. As vegetarians, we were treated to a beautiful version of Jim's breakfast, and it felt like family sitting around the table. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone going to P.E.I. ! Beth, Halifax

"Jim is a total pro when it comes to the b&b game. Great local tips, great conversations, and great hospitality. Absolutely would stay here again and would recommend everyone to check out this beautiful home “Thank you Jim and Kenneth for an amazing stay. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will be in touch about a cat drawing! Cheers and thanks!” Brett, St Catherines

"Jim's B&B is a cozy home away from home! Thank you for the quiet serene night in the beautiful countryside of PEI, thank you for the abundance of coffee and the fascinating conversations that happen around it! I will definitely be back! Thank you Jim for letting me stay at your place, I had a great time” Jamil, Montreal

"Jim and Kenneth’s hospitality is at another level. They both made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible and couldn’t have been happier. They served a huge breakfast that Jim prepared, and it felt like being at home more than a bed & breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the room super clean. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting PEI. Thanks for your hospitality and a fantastic stay. Wish I could’ve stayed longer, but gives me an excuse to come back!” Jimmy & Jacky, Vancouver

“A house full of antiques where you can't get enough of yourself. We found two really lovable hosts with whom we could have chatted forever. The rooms are also furnished with antiques and self painted paintings and are very clean. The bathroom contains a huge shower and is also sparkling clean. For breakfast we were spoiled with goodies. An extraordinary place with loving people” We are glad to have found you. Your house is really something very special - full of curiosities, where you can't see enough of yourself. We could have spent days with you. Thank you for showing us so much. Thanks also for the great breakfast! We wish you the best for the future! The M&Ms ;-)” Michaela & Michel, Germany

“Jim & Kenneth are amazingly gracious & genuine hosts. The rooms are spacious, yet warm & welcoming & extremely comfortable. The tips for places locally & in town were also spot on. Thanks for a wonderful stay!! ” “Jim & Kenneth, thank you so much for your gracious & genuine hospitality. Your home is remarkable & awe inspiring. ” Lisa and Glen, Vancouver

"Jim was wonderful. He provided us with a map with all of the sites on PEI. He also made us a wonderful home cooked breakfast. We would highly recommend Green Gay Bulls while traveling. Thank you so much for the lovely stay and amazing breakfast" Emily - Atlanta Georgia

"We loved our experience. Jim is a safe and welcoming host with a wealth of information about the areas history and layout. The only downside was that we booked last minute and arrived to late in the evening to enjoy the space. Breakfast was wonderful ! Coffee was plentiful and hospitality was delightful. Thanks again Jim for the great experience. Jim and Kenneth Thanks for hosting Bradley and I last night. It's a great pleasure to write you guys a 100% perfect review. Thanks for the great first time Bed and breakfast experience. I'm sure it'll be near to impossible to match ! Thanks once again!" Troy - Thunder Bay, Ontario

"We had a fantastic stay here. Jim was a fantastic host, he was very friendly and welcoming. He even helped us plan the rest of our trip on the island. The house is well-decorated and has a lot of artwork on display. Breakfast in the morning was hearty and delicious, above and beyond a typical B&B breakfast. Would recommend this place to anyone staying in PEI!" Jesse - Kitchener, Ontario

"Nice people. Unique place with a fantastic property. Breakfast was great!" Kyndra - Collingwood, Ontario

"We had a lovely time, a good sleep and an amazing breakfast! We would definitely go back. We are thinking about PEI for retirement and Jim even found us a real estate agent AND a house to look at!" Jeff - Pentitcodiac, Canada

"We had a great time staying with Jim in August. The location was beautiful and peaceful and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend! Thanks for a great stay Jim! It was lovely to meet you! " Kate - Ajax, Canada

"A one-of-a-kind B&B! Right when we arrived Kenneth gave us a tour of the house and its unique artifacts, telling us fascinating stories. The room was lovely and comfortable. Jim's breakfast is the heartiest we've ever had at a B&B, and delicious! It was so nice to sit and chat with both Jim and Kenneth in the morning...they shared more stories and helpful tips for our visit on the island. Would definitely return :)" Andria & Kuveh - Toronto, Ontario

"This slightly quirky home is filled with antiques mixed with more modern pieces. Jim and partner are very welcoming and make a real effort to ensure your stay is a comfortable one. The shared bathroom was large with an amazing oversized shower and bathtub. Sleep with the windows open and awake to the sound of birds followed by one of Jim's amazing breakfasts!" Margaret & Greg - Bala, Ontario

"Jim and Kenneth were exceptional hosts- must come with their 30 years of experience. Jim cooked great complete homemade breakfasts- we especially loved the rhubarb and muffins! My sister and I spent two nights at Green Gay Bulls B&B.
The location was perfect-in the beautiful landscape of PEI, while close to Charlottetown for dinners/exploring. The inn has a riverside view of the sunset, through a path in the backyard. The B&B is comfortable, unique, clean and has its own charm. The photos are accurate; even better in person. It is clear the B&B is composed of meaningful/diverse items and antiques, and if you ask Jim, he will explain the cool story behind each.
The bathroom was a good size, with a large rain shower. Not to mention, we had the best sleep of our trip so far! We noticed no noise whatsoever with the road, not that that would have veered us away, as most B&Bs on the island are off main roads anyway. The sunroom was especially beautiful. We cannot believe Green Gay Bulls got negative reviews on a certain website. Would 100% recommend this B&B and we will definitely be back next time we visit PEI. - Thank you Jim and Kenneth!!!
- Sam & Liz, Quebec

"We had a great stay here. The interior is unique, lot of antiques and family history. So there is a lot to discover and to see, what seems nice to us, not just due to the fact we stayed on our road trips often enough in expensive and heartless, cold, anonymous equipped Motels. We felt very welcome, the Hosts were lovely and enchanting, good talks and Jim made a amazing delicious, fresh breakfast. We recommend this place!"
- Steve V, Ontario

"Jim and his partner are very kind and warm people. They have a beautiful house full of their family collections and creative inventions. Very tasteful and lovely rooms. They gave us a tour of the house and shared the life stories. Delicious breakfast. All in all, an absolute wonderful experience! Don't miss it!"
Thank you so much for hosting us and sharing your life story and beautiful house with us. It is an absolutely wonderful experience. Please take care and hope to stay with you next time"
Jiawei - Richmond Hill, Ontario

"Jim and Kenneth are fantastic hosts! The breakfasts were incredible and they are both extremely knowledgeable about the best places to visit on the island seeing as they have been there for 30+ years. We will definitely stay again next time we are on-island!
Thanks again, Jim & Kenneth. Fantastic experience all around - we will definitely hit you up again next time we are on-island. Be well!
"  Keaton  & Robin - Toronto

"La demeure antique est un petit bijou pour ceux qui aime l'histoire et les antiquités. Mais par dessus tout l'accueil est excellente par le proprio ´Jim' , très prêt à donner de l'information et des directions . Très bien recu"  Greg - Quebec

" Stay here, Beautiful clean hou
se, great room, best breakfast! Jim is awesome, so kind and helpful. Helped with dinner reservations and planning the next leg of our trip. The house is filled with great stories. Have an extra cup of coffee with Jim and ask about the great pieces of history he has." "Just a quick note to say thank you for your wonderful hospitality Jim. A real pleasure staying with you and chatting. Be well, JD" John & Lilly, Orillia, Ontario

"We had a truly delightful and memorable experience staying at this beautiful B & B. Hosts Jim and Kenneth made us feel so very welcome, right from the start, with a slice of Jim's yummy, homemade rhubarb-strawberry pie. It tasted just like my mum's! This century home is impeccably kept and decorated, incredibly warm and welcoming, steeped in tradition and family history. An unexpected bonus was spending the evening with Jim, Kenneth and two of their other guests, Gabriella and Rob, exchanging stories of life experiences! Our breakfast was amazing and entirely homemade- so fresh, delicious and plentiful that we didn't need to eat again until supper! Jim provided us with all of the details that we needed, including clear directions to the closest beautiful beach and an excellent dinner recommendation. We will definitely book with Jim and Kenneth again when we next travel to PEI" Ann & Lise ,Kingston Ontario

"My girlfriend and I had a lovely experience staying at Green Gay Bulls! Jim and Kenneth made us feel right at home and were very welcoming. We loved exploring the house and property and all of the fabulous pieces of art throughout. Our bed was comfortable and everything including the spa-like bathroom with a huge shower was very clean. The evening we arrived it rained a bit so we sat on the sheltered front porch and enjoyed a few drinks with one of our hosts. Next time if the weather behaves we would love to sit out back by the huge fire pit. We enjoyed a delicious gourmet breakfast - Jim even took the time to ask us if we had any food restrictions. We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to book a stay again" Lyrssa

"My husband and I stayed at Green Gay Bulls for two nights this past week. Jim and Ken are two of the most welcoming hosts we've ever met at a Bed and Breakfast. We stayed up chatting with them and other guests both nights and felt like we were amongst friends.Jim's breakfasts are not only delicious but also plentiful. They both really go above and beyond for their guests to make it a wonderful stay. If you are looking for a home away from home, or a fantastic comfortable stay, then you need to stay here" Gabbie and Rob V, Ontario

"Wow, what can I say that the other reviewers haven't said already? On our current trip from Toronto to Newfoundland, we have stayed at 6 bnbs and Green Gay Bulls was by far the best. Jim and Ken are great guys and wonderful hosts. The whole experience from checking in until our departure (complete with photos and hugs) was so heartwarming. Jim is an excellent cook. You don't have to worry about going away hungry when he serves you breakfast. When we asked where to eat Jim even went so far as to make reservations for us at a nearby chowder house! We felt completely at home and enjoyed all of the wonderful treasures that Jim and Ken have amassed over the years. There is so much history in the home and hearing the stories behind some of Jim's most treasured items provided hours of interesting conversation. This home is clean and tidy and you can tell that both of these gentlemen love hosting we who come as strangers but leave as friends. I would certainly recommend this bnb to anyone staying in the Charlottetown area and I most definitely stay there again when I return to PEI. Thanks again for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable Jim! "
"Jim, We both so enjoyed our stay. Of the 6 air BNBs we stayed at, Green Gay Bulls was the best. You both are great guys and you made us feel so at home. You are a lovely man. I am so glad that I met you. Take care of yourself and if you ever find yourself in Wasaga Beach area....you are both welcome to stay at my place. Thank you again, Liz & Paul, Wasaga Beach

"Host greeted me by name when I arrived and went over the amenities personally as well as what door to enter in if returning after hours and breakfast schedule. Had very enjoyable breakfasts prepared by host and also had enjoyable chats at breakfast time and in evening. Very personable, helpful and considerate of guest needs. Kind, warm and welcoming hosts. A great place to stay that has a plethora of heirlooms and contemporary art and is located within very convenient driving distance of Orwell Corner Historic Village, MacPhail Homestead, Charlottetown, Wood Islands ferry service, Montague and more." Lewis, Sackville, New Brunswick

"Best Airbnb experience ever! And we have been using it for years! Excellent breakfast everyday, wonderful house and garden and above all Jim and Kenneth, full of great recommendations and stories, super friendly and one of the most interesting people we've ever met. Unfortunately we couldn't take them home..." Isabel & Holger, Munich, Germany

"Jim and Kenneth made us feel like we were at home the minute we entered their home. Jim is very proud of his family history and told us many stories about his growing up in Ontario . He displays what he loves most and shares why they are important. After we arrived home from Charlottetown, he served us home made pie and ice cream and we chatted over tea for a very long time. Even though we had to leave early to catch the ferry to PEI, he made us a wonderful full breakfast. My husband and I would recommend Jim and Kenneth's home to anyone staying in the Charlottetown area." ,Sharleen & Danny, Vancouver Island, BC

"Fantastic stay with Jim and Kenneth. They were the perfect hosts. The house was absolutely beautiful with some great family artifacts. Breakfast was amazing. Loved Kenneth's artwork. Beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended." Andrew & Anne, Melbourne, Australia

"Had a wonderful stay at the Green Gay Bulls. Jim is a fantastic guide to PEI. He recommended great restaurants and lots of things to do. The house is cute, a mix of Victorian and modern with an adventurous and eclectic art collection. Both Jim and his partner were very welcoming. This is a perfect spot from which to explore PEI." Stephanie, New Brunswick

"Host was amazing and cooked the best breakfast and home made muffins. He even offered us homemade pie in the evening, super host! Fantastic ideas of where to eat, beaches and site seeing. Great knowledge of the island! 10 out of 10 " Sandy & Dave, Niagara Region, Ontario

"We stayed with Jim and Kenneth for two days. They were warm and helpfull, they gave us a good welcoming feeling and great advices about planning our days. Their place is pretty close to the ferry, which was important for us. Jim's breakfest are incredible!!! and he has great stories about the island. Was a pleasure." Naama & Rachel, Jerusalem & New York

"Jim and Kenneth's generous hospitality made our stay in their eclectic home one of the highlights of our three day visit to PEI. As others have mentioned, Green Gay Bulls is clean, well located, with a breakfast that can't be topped. But the insight and recommendations our hosts were glad to share allowed us to get an insight into island life that no tour or guide book could have provided. Their love for PEI overflowed, and it's no surprise that a bit of it rubbed off on both my wife and I."  David & Robin, Vermont, USA

"My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in July. Jim was excellent with communication, answering our first question right away, and consistently being quick to respond whenever we needed anything. We got in rather late, and he was very flexible and accommodating. The house itself is beautiful with all kinds of interesting artifacts. Breakfast was phenomenal. One day was a traditional breakfast with a pancake, and the other was delicious french toast. Both days there was excellent coffee and tea available, along with homemade juice and a muffin. Jim gave suggestions, most of which were very useful. Unfortunately, the weather didn't fully cooperate while we were there, so going to the beach was not an option. Overall, this was an excellent stay, and highly recommended." Lisa & Colin, Halifax, Nova Scotia

"Staying at Green Gay Bulls was a wonderful experience. Jim welcomed us with open arms and always had a smile on his face. His home is full of historic gems from his family and things he's collected through the years - and he gave us a full tour of the place, telling great stories about the house itself and everything in it. He mapped out a full route of how to best explore the island and made sure we had a full breakfast (tons of food, including incredible homemade muffins). He even modified the ingredients to ensure I could eat everything, despite a dairy allergy. We enjoyed our conversations with him and had a nice glass of wine and some pie with him and one of his friends our first night there. It felt like staying with a friend we've had for years. Our trip wouldn't have been the same without this place." Jordana & Eli, Nova Scotia

"Jim and Kenneth are two of the most interesting and amazing people my mum and I have ever met, and the four of us became instant friends. What better way to meet such people on my very first visit to one of the most beautiful islands in the world? From the very start, Jim and Kenneth were incredibly kind and welcoming. Their house is almost indescribable, what with the gorgeous Victoriana memorabilia and furniture on display throughout the carefully curated and lovingly maintained heritage home. They went above and beyond to make my mum and I feel welcome and completely spoiled with amazing breakfasts, a personal tour of the house, a beautifully prepared room, many amazing candid and rewarding conversations throughout our stay and even a ride in Jim's 1931 Chevy to and from the nearby Orwell Heritage Village! Just amazing. Kenneth even went as far as to make a dinner reservation for us at their favourite Point Prim Chowder House on our first night, and the next morning Jim presented us with a customized map of the island with route suggestions and a list of the best things to see and do. My mum and I could tell Jim and Kenneth not only love but are extremely good at running a B&B. Vernon Bridge is also a lovely place to stay on PEI.. it's got that country vibe that we all lust for, but is only 20 mins outside of Charlottetown. Our stay was just perfect in every way. Thank you so much Jim & Kenneth. Miss you both already, cannot wait to come back!!! xxx" Victoria & Rosanna, Ontario

"We loved our stay at Green Gay Bulls. Our host, Jim, was very welcoming and friendly. He was also very helpful when we had questions about the area and places to see. His home is beautiful and in such a great location. It is clean and quite comfortable. Jim made us breakfasts that were amazing! This was our first time using Airbnb and Jim made this a wonderful experience. We stayed for three nights and would certainly stay again if we are in the area." Karl & Wendy, Vermont, USA

"Jim and Ken accepted our reservation on short notice, and were there to greet us when we arrived. They were very warm and welcoming - we felt right at home chatting with them about the house and the island. The house was full of history and character, and we were given a fascinating tour the night we arrived. Breakfast each day was delicious! After breakfast Jim was very helpful with ideas for places to visit, providing a map and a route we could follow, pointing out the best places to see in the limited time we had. Would love to stay again!" Adam & Amanda, Waterloo , Ontario

"Jim accepted our accommodation request on relatively short notice, and communication was excellent. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and immediately given a tour of their home. The artwork they've accumulated is in itself worth looking around at! Jim gave us a few suggestions in regards to points of interest, lunch, and shopping for artisan crafts, all of which were on point. When we returned at th the end of our day, we sat down with Jim and Ken, and just conversed as though we had known each other longer than just a few minutes. They are both very personable and easy to speak with. The breakfast Jim made for us in the morning was nothing short of delicious; freshly made juice included! The house was very clean, the room was comfortable, and the host most accommodating. If we find ourselves back in PEI, we will be back. Thank you, Jim and Kenneth" Crystal & Glen, Princeton ,BC

"Had a great experience at the Green Gay Bulls (love the name!). We had flexibility to check in when we first arrived on the island, which was helpful. The house is like a museum with lots of interesting pieces that have been collected over the years. Really enjoyed learning about the history of it all. After we explained what we wanted to visit that day, Jim gave us a map and lay out a route to get the most out of our visits. The breakfast was definitely the best part. Very gourmet. We had encrusted french toast, making it extra crunchy, with bacon pieces on top with beautiful fruits and edible flowers to garnish. We were also served coffee, tea, a homemade smoothie and homemade muffin with jam. I would definitely recommend this B&B, had a wonderful experience." Alison & Laura, Truro, Nova Scotia/ Hamilton, Ontario

"Jim was the type of host that you can only hope to have when you stay in a bed and breakfast. He was extremely hospital, generous, and an excellent cook (his breakfasts were large and delicious. Photograph worthy!). The location is stunning and borders a beautiful inlet. It is close to Charottetown and relatively central on the island, so it's a great home base to go out and explore, yet away from the overly "touristy" areas of the island! The bed was comfortable, and was made for us each day. The home is full of history, and there is a story behind each artifact in the home. It's a museum in its own right. Jim and Kenneth were so fun to talk to each morning and evening. I hope many find this review helpful in their search for a fantastic place to stay on PEI!" Matthew & Aron, Kentucky , USA

"Lovely country setting, conveniently located to many places of scenic beauty and interest; yet, it is within a twenty minute drive to the bustle of Charlottetown. The spotlessly clean house is interesting because it is full of Victoriana and early 20th century memorabilia. Even the car which we were privileged to be driven in by Jim, our host, is a vintage 1931 model. Jim was not only helpful in giving us lots of good tips on where to go and what to do but he and his partner, Kenneth were good company and lots of fun. Breakfasts were sumptuous, beautifully prepared affairs with whatever we wished for: eggs, bacon, home made 'to die for' muffins and jams. We truly enjoyed our stay and the company of two kind people who went out of their way to make our stay special. Many thanks, Green Gay Bulls!"  Larissa & Barry, London, UK

"It is not the least bit of an exaggeration to state that our stay at Green Gay Bulls far surpassed the already-high expectations (owing both to the basic information, along with the email dialogues with host/proprietors Jim and Kenneth) that we had prior to our arrival! The historied, beautifully-maintained house (which is also immaculate within) and spacious grounds are in a charming suburban setting, yet conveniently located (15 minutes to downtown Charlottetown). Each piece of unique period furniture and each décor item throughout the intricately/tastefully/charmingly decorated house has its own fascinating story, and Jim (quite the incomparable raconteur) takes great delight in lovingly conveying those stories; one can only guess at how many times he’s told these tales over the years, but each time is clearly as fresh and vibrant as if it was the first telling! Such a “treasure trove” of intriguing pieces comprise the warm, inviting ambience! And with its solid, century-old construction, the house is basically soundproof! Absolutely nothing could be heard from other rooms nor from the hallway, let alone from the floor below! We stayed in the “Rosewood Room,” with its exquisite sleigh bed (as were all of the furnishings), and the mattress is so blissfully comfortable, we were tempted to lash it onto the roof of our SUV and abscond with it in the middle of the night! Jim and Kenneth most assuredly don’t consider their guests to be “paying transients” (as we all know is sadly the case in most contexts like this) – they are truly and sincerely interested in each guest as an individual, and are more than generous with their time in getting to know their guests – which of course resulted in many hours of delightful conversation (on a myriad of topics; and also including over home-made desserts in the evening). If there was any doubt of this, the fact that there were copious pleasant email dialogues prior to our arrival, and comparable dialogues subsequent to our departure more than clarifies the depth of their warm sincerity -- they both truly have become “friends for life”!
Each morning a suggested itinerary for the day (based upon our personal preferences) had been prepared, with the most comprehensive routing mapped out so as to use our limited time most effectively. This proved invaluable, in that we were able to experience places well-suited to us that we may very well have most likely overlooked from just a listing in a brochure – our visit undoubtedly would not have had an iota of the quality that it did if not for such thoughtfulness, as the result of careful listening in getting acquainted with us! And “sumptuous” doesn’t begin to adequately describe the bountiful, delectable breakfasts – lunches weren’t even a consideration during our entire visit – we were too full! Muffins, fresh fruits, fresh-squeezed juices, eggs of varying preparations including omelettes and frittatas, pancakes, bacon, potatoes, toast, coffee/tea – all completely freshly prepared (nothing pre-made)! We certainly took full advantage of the legendary “party shower” (decadently indulgent), and of the on-site nude sunbathing.
The bucolic vista from the rear of the property is breathtaking --- don’t miss it! Jim’s workshop (he’s an expert and respected upholsterer) provided fascinating insights into his craft (where he gets the time is well beyond my comprehension) as well as seeing the “process” in progress on more storied pieces! We were also fortunate to have been on island for the Pride service at Jim’s church in which he officiated as the Celebrant, which was a most moving and inspiring experience, and was followed by the annual potluck luncheon back at Green Gay Bulls, which, in addition to yet another sumptuous repast, provided the opportunity to meet dozens of local residents, and while that was immensely enjoyable, it also clarified how well-regarded Jim is in just about every facet of local life, far beyond his proprietorship of the B&B. I admittedly am not one to rapidly become attached to places/situations, but I became deeply attached, in the course of only a week, to both Prince Edward Island and Green Gay Bulls; consequently, it was very difficult for me to leave. And I highly doubt that that would have been the case had we been anonymous guests in a hotel in Charlottetown, as opposed to the personalized and highly-personable experience we had in the incomparably charming and unique setting (in all regards) that is Green Gay Bulls and its incomparable proprietors….!
In all, a truly unforgettable experience, and one that I most certainly wish to repeat! (As much as we got to see and do, there are still many sections of the Island that we didn’t even touch!)" Joseph and Joe, New York, USA
